Prologue
When informed that former Arsenal captain Tony Adams had recently voiced his opinion that Declan Rice should be the on-pitch leader, on Friday, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta made it known about the team choice
Arteta said: "Well, my opinion is clear. It's not just my opinion, it's all the staff and especially the players.
"I asked them to vote the captain and I got the result yesterday.
"And by a mile, by a big, big 100 marks, everybody's choosing the same person, which is Martin Odegaard, which is the most clear sign that you can have, how they feel about who has to be their captain to defend, improve and win the matches that we want to win.
"So, I mean, there's no question about that."
Arteta also believes Viktor Gyokeres will have a ‘tremendous impact'
Invited to talk about the possible duel between former Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko and new Arsenal striker Gyokeres at Old Trafford, Arteta wisely sidestepped the headline, dialling it down, saying: “I can just talk about Viktor and how happy we are to have him.
"He is going to have a tremendous impact in the team and his adaptation has been really, really good and we are happy to have him.
"Many strikers have come from different leagues and being successful and it's on us to create the right conditions for him [Gyokeres] to be successful."
It is nearly time for Sunday's Old Trafford blockbuster, in the biggest match of the opening round of Premier League fixtures.

Arsenal team news
Arsenal's new £63.5m summer signing Viktor Gyokeres is set to make his Premier League debut at Old Trafford, with Mikel Arteta understood to be throwing the former Coventry City striker immediately into the fray against his old Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim.
Despite the arrival of Kepa, David Raya will start between the sticks, with redoubtable pair William Saliba and Gabriel in front.
Arteta now has genuine competition at full-back, with Ben White and Jurrien Timber on the right, and Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly on the left.
Bukayo Saka will start on the right flank with Gabi Martinelli expected to feature on the left channel, following a lively showing against Bilbao.
Chelsea arrival Noni Madueke is waiting in the wings following his summer move across the capital. However Leandro Trossard is set for an Emirates exit this month, as he recovers from a groin injury as Saudi clubs hover.
Arsenal's midfield trident in new signing Martin Zubimendi alongside captain Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice could be the best in the middle since 2004.
Man Utd team news
Ruben Amorim’s back three for Sunday's mouth-watering clash is set to be Leny Yoro on the right and Matthijs de Ligt or Harry Maguire in the middle, with the choice on the left being one of the latter, Luke Shaw or former Arsenal academy defender Ayden Heaven to fill the ongoing void caused by the injury-enforced absence of Lisandro Martinez.
