Gabriel Jesus scored twice to hand the Gunners victory
Gabriel Jesus grabbed a brace, while Viktor Gyokeres netted a second half strike to hand Mikel Arteta a selection headache, as the rampant Gunners won again in Europe, to make it seven games on the bounce.
Following Jesus two first half goals, Gyokeres grabbed a third to make it nine for the season, as majestic Arsenal bossed Serie A leaders Inter, to guarantee a place in the round of 16, after moving six points clear at the top of the 36 team Champions League group, to secure a top-eight finish - thereby avoiding the need for two extra play-off games next month.
After speaking so well during his pre-match press conference the night before at the soon to be demolished San Siro, Jesus let his football do the speaking on Tuesday evening in front of more than 70,000 fans including more than 4,000 travelling Gooners at the Stadio Guiseppe Meazza.
Jesus pair went a long way to extending the Gunners' perfect record in Europe this term - while also boosting all-important momentum ahead of Sunday's blockbuster clash with a rejuevenated Manchester United. It is a game in which Jesus has now firmly put himself in contention to start ahead of Gyokeres, even if the 28-year-old Swede underlined his potential with an 84th minute goal, for his third in this tournament so far during this campaign which promises so much for Arteta and his team.
"We're very proud, not only for tonight's game, but what we've done in the competition so far in seven matches," said Arteta after the match.
He added: "With one game to go, to be already in the position that we want to be is a massive prize to the team, because we know how difficult it is, and then tonight it was a test.
"Probably we didn't have the necessity in terms of the points, but we really had the hunger and the desire to come to a place like this, against a top, top side, and prove what we are and what we can do. I'm really pleased with what I've seen."
