Little becomes the second captain to lead the Gunners to a Champions League title, and told TNT Sports that “It felt like our year”.
“It went our way. We played the game the way we wanted, and it went our way.
“In the other games we had two legs, so we had time to adjust. Today we knew it was one game and we had to execute our gameplan, we had to stop them and manage the space well, and the whole team did that incredibly well today, I’m so proud.”
Arsenal’s stout defensive effort saw Barcelona dominate possession but fail to significantly test goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar, before substitute Blackstenius scored the decisive goal.
“We have different ways of playing,” Little reflected. “Most of the time we like to possess the ball, especially in the WSL, but obviously today we knew we weren’t going to have the ball as much.
“I just can’t believe it, all of it,” Blackstenius told TNT. “It’s such a team performance from the very beginning until the very end.
“I just can’t believe we won the Champions League and we get to celebrate, it hasn’t sunk in yet.”
