Laura Wienroither leaves Arsenal for permanent Manchester City move

The Austrian ends her three-and-a-half-year spell in North London to join City after a successful loan

As first reported by The Gooner Fanzine, Laura Wienroither has depared Arsenal Women.

Wienroither has completed a permanent move to Manchester City following her loan spell there last season.

The Austrian full-back arrived at Arsenal from Hoffenheim in January 2022, making her debut in a League Cup quarter-final against Manchester United later that month.

Across her three-and-a-half years in North London, she made 51 appearances, scored once, and lifted two League Cup trophies.

She also made appearances in the earlier stages of Arsenal’s successful 24/25 UWCL campaign.

Wienroither’s time at Arsenal was marked by resilience, most notably her comeback from a long-term ACL injury sustained at the end of the 2022/23 campaign. And after a long spell on the sidelines, she returned to action in April 2024.

The second half of the 2024/25 season saw her go out on loan to Manchester City, where she made eight appearances in all competitions.

Speaking about the move, Wienroither described her decision to stay in Manchester as a “no-brainer”, praising the squad’s togetherness and ambition.
