Leeds vs Arsenal: Predicted line-up and score
Here's Nick Manfredi with predicted lineup for Arsenal's crucial Premier League clash at Leeds United
In terms of team news, we remarkably have no injuries at all for quite possibly the first time in our 139-year history.
Obviously, the injury Gods won’t let this clean bill of health last for two long so we may have to sacrifice one or two ACL’s and hamstrings in the pre-match warm up in order to appease them. Let’s hope not.
Mikel Arteta said in his Friday presser that Kai Havertz is “ready to start” so it will be interesting to see if he does.
It was uncharacteristically open from the boss who usually keeps his cards so close to his chest you’d need a team of world class surgeons to see what was written on them.
If the German does start, will it be in midfield where he impressed on Wednesday or back up top?
This would be my predicted (not preferred) lineup:
David Raya;
Jurrien Timber,
Gabriel,
Wiliam Saliba,
Riccardo Calafiori;
Martin Zubimendi,
Declan Rice,
Martin Odegaard;
Bukayo Saka,
Leo Trossard,
Jesus
I’m not sure I can see Arteta risking Kai from the start for this one.
If we need a goal, I can see him bringing him on for Zubimendi after an hour, but we have a big semi-final on Tuesday, and I can see Havertz playing a big part in that.
This is a massive game, especially after not winning in our last three. It’s not technically a must win but it feels like it is for us fans.
By the end of the weekend, we could only be one point clear while if things go our way the gap could be as wide as seven points again.
Manchester City go to Spurs who have a bizarrely excellent record against them, while Villa host Brentford who always make life difficult, so let’s put the pressure on the chasers by getting the three points in Yorkshire.
I am expecting a nervy 2-0 win with the second goal coming late in the day.
