Michelle Agyemang has received her first call-up to the senior England squad, stepping in to replace Alessia Russo, who has returned to Arsenal for assessment on an injury.
Agyemang, 19, was part of the England Under-19 side that recently secured qualification for this summer’s Euros in Poland with a game to spare.
The forward is currently on loan at Brighton from Arsenal and has impressed this season with her pace, power and eye for goal.
Russo picked up the injury during England’s 5-0 win over Belgium on Friday and has now withdrawn from camp to begin her recovery in North London.
She joins fellow Arsenal players Chloe Kelly and Daphne van Domselaar on the seemingly growing list of international break casualties.
Agyemang will link up with the Lionesses squad, who depart St. George’s Park today (Sunday) ahead of Tuesday’s reverse fixture against Belgium in Leuven.
