Player Ratings: Arsenal 2-0 Serbia as Saka and Eze seal win for England at Wembley
Here's View From The Armchair's unique Player Ratings after Arsenal pair Saka and Eze score for England to beat Serbia 2-0
Jordan Pickford: 8/10 - Didn't see the Everton keeper chew anyone out - when he does it’s normally him at fault, and he berates a defender, even if he rarely if ever lets England down as he made it an incredible nine consecutive 90 minute appearances for England without conceding a goal, a national record.
Reece James: 7/10 - handsome bugger ain’t he, that’s it, that’s his his review, he plays for Chelsea, I’ll give him that he’s a handsome bugger. I should dock him two points cos he plays for that lot.
Ezri Konsa: 6/10 - The Villa defender was sloppy when left floundering after calling for an offside flag that never came when Filip Kostic drove into the box after the break - the 33-year-old Juventus midfielder squared it to Serie A teammate Dusan Vlahovic, whose instinctive attempt to flick it into the far corner saw the ball fly narrowly wide.
John Stones: 7/10 - the Manchester City defender had a solid game
Nico O’Reilly: 7/10 - City’s 19-year-old left-back was handed his first England start, a mere 11 months after making his Premier League bow for Pep Guardiola's billionaire moneybags.
Elliot Anderson: 6/10 - the lad from the north-east who now plies his trade at Forest has been busy cementing his place alongside our Declan 'half price' Rice. I really like the look of him. Subbed off for Adam Wharton,
Declan Rice: 9/10 - the man they call Horse at London Colney, had a gentle stroll around the Wembley turf, but still managed to cover every blade of grass.
Bukayo Saka: 10/10 - Starboy Saka scores on 28 minutes, to add to his tally of being Arsenals highest scorer for England with his 14th goal.
Morgan Rogers: 7/10 - Jude Bellingham had to make do with a place on the bench as west Midland’s childhood pal, Morgan Rogers started ahead of the Real Madrid La Liga and Champions League winner in midfield
Marcus Rashford: 6/10 - good to see him getting some sort of semblance of form back, can actually enjoy him more now he has left United
Harry Kane: 5/10 - the Bayern Munchen goal machine is another who can get a respectable score from this armchair pundit now he has left Spurs. Missed a sitter at the end of the first hald when well-placed. Dropped deep and deeper before Phil Foden came on as a False Nine.
Substitutes:
Eberechie Eze: 10/10 - Came on at 64 minutes, another cap for the Arsenal maverick stroller. I love him so much. Hit the bar in the dying minutes - before, oh my days, what a peach of a finish - it’s 2-0 with a cracker. That is why I love him.
Jude Bellingham: 6/10 - Clearly has work to do if he wants to make Tuchel's stating XI as the former Chelsea boss clearly thinks he is not as disciplined as west Midlands schoolpal Rogers. Looked off the pace when he came on.
Phil Foden: 8/10 - triple substitution, looks like he’s rocking a perm, I think it is, shocking scenes at Wembley. Bonus point for the perm, add one for the back like Hoddle and Waddle. In other news he's simnply not a False Nine. Not on this performance. Or is he?
Jordan Henderson: 2/10 - for the audacity of getting another England cap, and blocking MLS from adding to his by taking up a squad position. Shocking scenes at a rain drenched Wembley. If Tuchel really thinks he's such a good 'tourist' - why not simply pick him as another 'coach' for the footballing jamboree next summer and be done with it. Where does this madness end? Let’s get Glenn Hoddle back, and John Barnes shall we? Though to be fair Barnsey could do with the £500 appearance fee,
Oh Lordy, when can we get back to the Premier League and watching The Arsenal once again.
Next up is Albania vs England.
They've got former Gunner Sylvinho as boss don'cha know...
