Player Ratings: Arsenal 2-1 Brighton
Martin Odegaard and a Georgino Rutter own goal sealed victory for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta's Gunners headed back to the top of the Premier League.
Find out who impressed with the Gooner Fanzine's Player Ratings after Arsenal beat Brighton to return to the top of the Premier League table
David Raya: 7.5/10 - A superb second half save - surely one of the saves of the season so far - kept out Yankuba Minteh's curling effort to keep the score 2-1. Just how important that will become the end of the season?
Declan Rice: 9/10 - Can play as a No6, a No8 and now, it seems, also as a marauding right-back/right-wing back after Riccardo Calafiori's late withdrawal after picking up an injury in the warm-up. Surely the Player of the Year.
William Saliba: 8/10 - A class act but one that shines more alongside his defensive partner Gabriel. While the crowd cheered loudly when the King of Brazil returned to first team action as a substitute midway through the second half you could just about make out a smile from the French centre-back at the welcome return of his colleague
Piero Hincapie: 7/10 - A solid and reliable performance despite not playing in his recognised position.
Myles Lewis-Skelly: 7/10 - It's important to remember that the callow teenager is still only 19 - especially when you consider he still has plenty to learn regarding avoiding incurring the wrath of referees through dissent. Np surprise Gabriel replaced the teen shortly after he had been booked by John Brooks, as Arsenal’s influential ‘King of Brazil’ returned to first team action amid much acclaim
Martin Zubimendi: 7.5/10 - Metronomic and positively Santi Cazorla-esq when in possession in tight spaces. Is really starting to understand the English game which means that, while creativity is important so is not ceding possession amid all the fury and mayhem
Mikel Merino: 7.5/10 - Two players in one these days as an efficient defensive midfielder as well as a goalscoring makeshift striker
Martin Odegaard: 8/10 - Wonderful to see our skipper well on his way back to the form we know he is capable of week in week out. An excellent strike to open the scoring and fully deserved his warm ovation from the fans after the final whistle.
Bukayo Saka: 8/10 - Picked up an assist ahead of Odegaard's strike and was a constant threat down the flank, which culminated in a tantalising cross for Gabi Martinelli following a gloriously sweeping move that would have been a beautiful assist for a beautiful goal if our Brazil attacker had managed to keep his shot lower.
Viktor Gyokeres: 7/10 - Another bustling performance up front that helped his side to another three important points. The time for discussion about his effectiveness is in the summer of 2026. Hopefully with a league title under his arm
Leo Trossard: 7.5/10- To borrow View from The Armchair's superb nickname, our silver haired squirrel was a thorn in the side against his former club throughout the match. In fact the only discernible jeers came when former Seagull attacker Leo Trossard came into contact with the ball, the travelling fans presumably still annoyed the Belgian international swapped the south coast for North London - the jeers making it twice in a week the 29-year-old had been booed at the Emirates, following Brighton’s rivals Crystal Palace hurling abuse at him during their League Cup defeat. Not that our Leo cares a jot about such things. All he wants is a Premier League trophy. And a new contract. Today went some way to progressing hopes of both

All three Gabi's: 8/10
