Arsenal 2-1 Nottingham Forest. Player Ratings

GK: Aaron Ramsdale - 7/10 - Is David Raya's impending arrival helping or hindering the current No1's progress. A worrying few moments after Awoniyi's goal but can generally be pleased with his perofrmance, even if his distribution with his feet will be studied even more intently now

RB: Thomas Partey - 7/10 - Arteta demanded a slightly different role but the Ghanian adapted well. Tucked into midfield and battled well

CB: Ben White - 7.5/10 - Solid. A comfortable performance from arguably the Gunners best defender

CB: William Saliba - 7/10 - A Rolls Royce of a player that never looks rushed and has pace to burn

LB: Jurrien Timber - 7/10 - Limped off on his Premier League debut. Let's hope the injury isn't too serious for the talented new arrival

DM: Declan Rice - 7/10 - Still bedding down with a slightly more advanced role, but a class act - what a signing the classy midfielder will become

CM: Martin Odegaard (c) - 7/10 - Lively if not completely influential

CM: Kai Havertz - 7/10 - Arteta's man - expect to see a lot more of the former Chelsea man in the starting XI

RW: Bukayo Saka - 9/10 - A world class footballer who scored a world class stunner from long range. And to think he's still only 21 years old

CF: Eddie Nketiah - 8/10 - Slotted home well aided by a deflection off Hucknall-born Joe Worrall as he stepped up in Gabriel Jesus absence

LW: Gabriel Martinelli - 8/10 - Lively and dangerous as wever, Never stops running on and off the ball and never allowed the Forest backline to settle

Astonished by these rating! Havertz was anonymous. 4 would have been generous. White was a liability at CB. Hardly our best defender. Saka scored a beauty but every corner he took was under hit and for the majority of the game he made very little impact. Ramsdale was bullied in his own box and his kicking was suspect.
