Player Ratings: Arsenal 4-0 Everton as the Gunners rout sorry Toffees

Gabi Martinelli scores the first of his brace to help Arsenal beat Everton 4-0

Arsenal 4-0 Everton

Two goals from Gabi Martinelli along with Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard sealed victory for the rampant Gunners against sorry Everton on Wednesday evening at the Emirates.

The win saw Mikel Arteta's impressive side move ficve points cleaar of second place Manchester City.

Find out who impresed with our Arsenal Player Ratings:

Aaron Ramsdale: 8/10 - The Arsenal crowd gleefully sang: "You're just a **** Aaron Ramsdale" to the England keeper. Surely won't be too long until the Gunners net minder takes over from the former Sunderland keeper between the sticks for The Three Lions

Ben White: 8/10 - Solid at the back and offered a threat up front when the opportunity arose

Gabriel: 8/10 - One excellent stop to prevent a sweeping Everton move end in a goal summed up his half. Alert and decisive when required

William Saliba: 8/10 - Put in a shift but will have had far more difficult evenings than against the Toffees insipid attack

Olexsandr Zinchenko: 8/10 - Such an important conduit for the defence and midfield as the impressive Ukrainian performing defensive duties with aplomb while providing attacking with a vigour that rubs off on his teammates. How on earth did Manchester City agree to let him go to North London

Jorginho: 6/10 - Not so much off the pace, merely playing the wrong tune in a dynamic Arsenal side that he is still adjusting to. A class act and a canny signing - though it will be reassuring when Thomas Partey returns fully fit with the respective pair swapping roles at the break

Granit Xhaka: 8/10 - The crowd cheered when Arsenal's Redemption Man won the ball off former Gunner Alex Iwobi. Involved in breaking down Everton in the middle and prompting Gunners raids on the Toffees backline.

Martin Odegaard: 8.5/10 - Fully deserved his second half goal to seal victory against a poor Everton side that only came to defend

Buykayo Saka: 8.5/10 - Scored an absolutely emphatic strike that was as satisfying to watch as it must have been for his teammates as the sheer force of his strike ensured the ball flew into the roof of the net practically through England keeper Jordan Pickford.

Gabi Martinelli: 8.5/10 - His smart finish for the second goal doubled the lead moments before the interval - and VAR sensibly agreed

Leandro Trossard: 8.5/10 - Carried on his excellent work during Saturday's vital 1-0 victory over Leicester at the King Power. Lively and intelligent on and off the ball and via his attempts to set colleagues free further forward with perceptive through balls. Deserved his assist after a powerful driving run prior to his cross for Odegaard to slot home. Also deserved his ovation when he was replaced by Eddie Nketiah

Substitutes:

Thomas Partey: 8/10 - Swapped with former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho at the interval to shore up the Gunners midfield defensively while also offer more options in attack

Eddie Nketiah: 7.5/10 - Replaced Trossard after the Gunners went 3-0 up. Good to see the Lewisham-born striker get valuable game time after being usurped by the Brighton attacker

Emile Smith Rowe: 7/10 - Great to see the talented Gunners attacker make a return
