Player Ratings: Arsenal go top of the Premier League table after 2-0 win over West Ham

Find out who impressed after Arsenal beat West Ham 2-0 to move to the top of the Premier League

Here's View From The Armchair and his unique take on proceedings

It’s a choppy old feed as we dodge the powers that be to find a picture for this massive game today, but grin and bear it we must, anything beats Clinton Morrison describing it to me over on Sky Sports, on the plus side no Gary Neville on the comms.

In goal we have, David Raya: 8.5/10 - money for nothing and a clean sheet for free

Jurrien Timber: 8.5/10 - early shot, solid performance against the sorry Irons

William Saliba: 8.5/10 - kept out the West Ham forward line as if they weren't there - wait a minute with that completely ineffective Fulkrig up top they weren't

Gabriel: 8.5/10 - as complete and dominant a shut out as you are ever likely to see, a performance from the back four that would have Adams, Bould and Keown singing their praises, exactly what we need to see at this stage of the season, it’s another clean sheet as we move to the top of the table again.

Riccardo Calafiori: 8.5/10 - Italian thoroughbred with the fantastic mane, smashed it against the post on the stroke of half-time. Saved for another day on 74 mins.

Martin Odegaard: 8/10 - clash of knees on 20 minutes, his left kneecap instantly swelling up, made it back onto the pitch for a further eight minutes before another trip to the treatment table required, visibly devastated as he leaves the pitch

Declan 'we got him half price' Rice: 9/10 - MOTM masterful performance at the base of the midfield, swept home on the half volley on 37 minutes to make it 1-0. Barely put a foot wrong against his old club

Eberechie Eze: 8/10 - Blazed over the bar an open goal on 12 minute but will claim the assist for Rice’s opener, involved in all the juicy possession we had until replaced for Martinelli

Bukayo Saka: 8.5/10 - Starboy playing his 200th Premier League game today, rifled home the penalty on 66 minutes to make it 2-0, one to benefit from getting a full 90 minutes under his belt for the first time in a while.

Viktor Gyokeres: 8.5/10 - more Marco Van Battering ram than Van Basten, the more hustling and bustling he does up front, the more space he creates for others to profit from.

Leo Trossard: 8.5/10 - seen urging the crowd for more noise which duly came. Instrumental in controlling the ebb and flow of the game which Arsenal did all day long, easy work today.

Substitutes:

Martin Zubimendi: 8.75/10 - on for the injured Odegaard, instantly slotted in and allows Rice to push up, involved in the opener, his path to legend continues, chipped ball into Timber for the penalty decision. Super close run thing between Zubi and Super Dec for MOTM.

Ethan Nwaneri: 7.5/10 - worked hard to maintain the clean sheet, got forward when he could on the rare occasions the Hammers applied a smidgen of late pressure - not a lot, mind you, the word Smidgen will suffice.

Myles Lewis Skelly:  7.5:10 - Cool as you like, as he always is, let it be noted for any mischievous England press he has had another run out, will be one of the Crown Jewels in many an England squad to come yet, leave him at home at your own peril.

Gabi Martinelli: 7.5/10 - on for Eze for the last 12 minutes, as the quality keeps coming off the bench in waves for an emphatic dominant Arsenal shut out today - another three points and top of the table, onto the next one.

Mikel Merino: 7.5/10 - on for Rice who limped off injured, hopefully nothing too serious, linked up well with Martinelli when introduced late on.

Arsenal’s work is done here, as a statement is made. Not often you’ll hear me say it but come on you blues as all eyes divert onto Chelsea vs Liverpool.

Arsenal crowd watch: 63 minutes the Emirates finds its voice, ole ole ole, instantly rewarded as the pace and zip increases and Arsenal win a soft penalty which we will take all day long to give us the breathing space the performance warrants.

A completely dominant 2-0 win sees us return to the top.
