Player Ratings: Boreham Wood 3-2 Arsenal XI 

Luke Garrard's side Boreham Wood side emerged 3-2 victors against an Arsenal XI at Meadow Park on Friday evening.

In a lively match goals from the Wood's Jamal Fyfield and Josh Rees either side of half time were cancelled out by second half strikes from Khayon Edwards and Charles Sagoe Jr - prior to Danny Elliott grabbing the winner with only five minutes remaining.

The side that reached the fifth round of the FA Cup last term proved too good for what was effectively an Arsenal U23 side, in which the talented Charlie Patino shone in the opening 45 minutes, before being replaced at the break. 

However, what will stay with many the most from the game is the sad realisation that we won’t ever hear the late Maria Petri’s voice again at Meadow Park.
