Find out who impressed with our Goone Fanzine Player Ratings

GK: Jordan Pickford - 7/10 - A strong presence and a vocal organiser who had a few wobbles in the first half, along with David Strelec's long range shot that flew narrowly wide - but the experienced Everton keeper is now in the quarter-finals of another international tournament

RB: Kyle Walker - 4/10 - A poor performance from such anb experienced defender. But his last-gasp throw-in was the catalyst for Jude Bellingham's exceptional overhead kick

CB: John Stones - 4/10 - An uncertain performance from the normally assured Manchester City defender after he was pulled around Slovakia's lively attackers, especially in the first half. Helped at times by centre-back colleague Marc Guehi.

CB: Marc Guehi - 7/10 - Early yellow card not only meant the impressive Palace defender had to walk a defensive tightrope against Slovakia's nimble forwards, but also underlined his strength of character knowing as he did that the caution would mean he would miss any possible quarter-finals

LB: Kieran Trippier - 4/10 - Did no favours whatsoever for Guehi with an early ball that ensured the Palace man would have to take one for the team and pick up a booking. Looked uncomfortable while adding little before hobbling off injured.

DM: Kobbie Mainoo - 6/10 - Such composure and maturity from someone so young. Looked assured in his position which also means Southgate can stop looking for partners for Declan Rice from now onwards

DM: Declan Rice - 7/10 - Hit the post late on from his more defensive role for England which involves plenty of unsung work. Never stopped working hard while ensuring positional discipline

RM: Bukayo Saka - 6.5/10 - A bright start to underline just why he should always be first choice. Also showcased his versatility when covering for the stricken Trippier as the match progressed. A class act as ever

AM: Jude Bellingham - 8/10 - Forget about what he did or didn't do in the 94 and a half minutes before his remarkable goal because big players step up when you need them to and deliver. Which is what Real Madrid's La Liga and Champions League winner did.

LM: Phil Foden - 5/10 - Anonymous on the left but ineffective when drifting inside too

ST: Harry Kane - 7/10 - Scores important goal does the former Junior Gunner - even if he does little else these days
