Player Ratings: Late penalty sees Chelsea Women beat Arsenal 1-0

Guro Reiten's late penalty saw Chelsea move ten points above Arsenal at the top of the WSL table, with the Gunners dropping to third and suffering their first defeat under Renee Slegers.

Daphne van Domselaar 8/10

A superb reaction save to keep out Catarina Macario in the first half from close range, with two more brilliant stops in stoppage time.

Katie McCabe 7/10

Threatened constantly going forward and delivered some enticing crosses. Sent off after Chelsea were awarded a penalty, for two yellow cards in quick succession. "That's so bad" she exclaimed to the fourth official.

Steph Catley 7/10

Important interceptions and clearances early on, defending well.

Leah Williamson 7/10

Brought up her 250th Arsenal appearance.

Emily Fox 6.5/10

Targeted in the opening exchanges by Sandy Baltimore and struggled initially.

Kim Little 6.5/10

The organiser in Arsenal’s midfield, playing a key role every time there was a break in play to issue instructions to her teammates. Brought down Lauren James in the box to concede a penalty, but replays showed she got the ball.

Kyra Cooney-Cross 6/10

Picked out some excellent long balls as Arsenal looked to play a little more direct, in a tough and physical midfield battle.

Caitlin Foord 6/10

Went off injured towards the end of the first half, replaced by Frida Maanum.

Mariona Caldentey 6/10

Started in the number ten role before moving out wide when Maanum was introduced. Unable to really get into the game.

Beth Mead 6.5/10

Curled a shot wide before half time after finding space in the penalty area, and caused problems in behind. 

Alessia Russo 6/10

Dragged an effort wide in the first half after being played through by a misplaced Chelsea pass. Battled tirelessly up front and then on the right wing.

Frida Maanum (Sub, 44’) 6/10

Curled a shot just over the crossbar with 15 minutes to go and was lively in attacking midfield.

Stina Blackstenius (Sub, 66’) 5.5/10

Little service upfront after her introduction.
