Player Ratings: Latvia 0-5 England as four Arsenal players help Three Lions to World Cup qualification

Find out who impressed with View From The Armchair's England Player Ratings

It’s a super strong looking England team against the minnows from Latvia, Harry Kane has got the armband, and there are trees down the side of this ground, Miles Lewis Skelly starts, alongside Rice and Saka for the Gooners.

Jordan Pickford: 8/10 - could be my eyesight but this pitch looks huge? Lovely surface mind, with the world’s largest tarpaulin behind the goal, eventful ground on the mince pies, repeat trees down one side of the ground? Pickford looking greasier than usual, easy on the Brylcreem fella.

Djed Spence: 8/10 - Tuchel is taking a ribbing off the England fans here after his comments about the atmosphere the other night, I made him right, it was woeful. Assist for the own goal, for England's fourth of the night. Faultless polished performance tonight.

John Stones: 7.5/10 - with the assist for Gordon’s opener, a long punt upfield, or a well crafted through ball - you decide on the highlights. Replaced by Dan Burn on 70 minutes untroubled tonight.

Ezri Konsa: 8/10 - we’re on our way we’re on our way, rains down from the stands, even managing to give Guehi a rest on the journey it would seem, powerful and faultless throughout. Superbly timed tackle on Gutkovskis that was as satisfying as it was technically excellent.

Myles Lewis Skelly: 7.5/10 - so much for a lack of minutes, MLS very much in Tuchels plans as he not only starts, but sees the game out, no trouble with this man’s Engine as he lets no one down.

Elliot Anderson: 8/10 - nice control and shot on the half volley on 10 minutes that flew narrowly over the bar. A solid performance at the base of England's midfield, vital experience gained tonight for the youngster.

Declan Rice: 8/10 - imperious, dominant, equally very happy to see him rested for Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures on 59 minutes. Job well done as our half priced midfield maestro left the pitch with England 4-0 nil to the good.

Bukayo Saka: 8/10 - looked dangerous and switched on from the start. Assist for Kane’s first goal, very happy to see him wrapped in cotton wool on 59 minutes for the Arsenal cause. COYG! (No bias here of course...)

Morgan Rogers: 7/10 - wayward shot into the trees on 16 mins, it’s the kind of ground you worry if the floodlights are gonna make it all the way. Subbed on 59 minutes as England romped this fixture.

Anthony Gordon: 8/10 - His performance in the opening 25 minutes gave strong shades of a prime Paul Merson. Cut in from the right to slot home majestically into the bottom corner for 1-0. Replaced by Marcus Rashford on 70 minutes -  a good night's work.

Harry Kane: 8.5/10 - shot inches wide of the near post early on. Eventually made it 2-0 on 43 minutes with a crisp whipped finish from the edge of the box past the keeper. Grabbed his 76th goal for England to make it 3-0 from the penalty spot moments later. Narrowly edged Gordon for the MOTM performance tonight.

Substitues:

Jordan Henderson: 7/10 - quick call Gazza, let’s get Beckham back for a farewell tour what’s going on here? I jest, he always does a job, replaces rice on the hour.

Eberechie Eze: 8/10 - Arsenal's mercurial baller given his opportunity on the hour mark. Is it his languid style that gets me on the edge of my seat every time I see him play. Made it 5-0 on 86 minutes as Latvia are opened up like a can of beans at the back.

Jarrod Bowen: 7.5/10 - West Ham’s flying right winger given a chance to shine and stake a claim on the hour as he replaces Saka

Dan Burn: 7/10 - Big Dan Burn gets a chance to show us how good he is in the air, go on lad get up.

Marcus Rashford: 7/10 - In good nick for Barcelona and was given 20 minutes to make his mark in this hodge podge of a stadium.

View From The Armchair Verdict:

Well that’ s a wrap from the armchair, as God Save Our King reigns down from the terraces and Thomas Tuchels England slip into comfortable overdrive in this dismantling destruction job on Latvia.
