Sarina Wiegman provides update after Michelle Agyemang stretchered off

The on-loan Arsenal striker was in distress after a serious knee injury

On-loan Arsenal striker Michelle Agyemang was stretchered off in the second half of England's 3-0 win over Australia.

The 19-year-old went down with a knee injury and was immediately in pain as team-mates waved for the physios to come on.

Agyemang looked in real distress as she left the pitch in a stretcher to a standing ovation in the 80th minute.

Sarina Wiegman spoke to ITV after the match, and provided an update on the forward.

"I haven't been inside yet," said the Lionesses' head coach. "That looked horrible, of course she was stretchered off, it doesn't look good. It's of course not confirmed but it looks bad."

In her post-match press conference, Wiegman said: "It was an awful moment, doesn't look good. Of course we don't know yet because she still has to be assessed. I'm not very positive about what I've seen."

England's Aggie Beever-Jones also spoke to ITV. "It's never nice when someone goes off on a stretcher, let alone a teammate. I don't know what she's done, I just hope she's ok. It's never, ever nice to see anyone in pain like that. I'm just praying she's ok."

Goals from Beever-Jones, Lucy Bronze and a Georgia Stanway penalty saw England win comfortably against former Arsenal manager Joe Montemurro's Matildas.

Taylor Hinds impressed on her debut at left-back, with a host of Gunners stars on both sides.
