Prologue:

Fifteen games remain of this Premier League season for Arsenal, and you can be certain that each match will be more heart attack inducing than the previous game.

The first of these comes up at Leeds inside the cauldron that is Elland Road. Our title dreams have died at their hands before so let’s hope there’s no repeat of that. Leeds’ form has picked up as the season has gone on.

That 5-0 pasting we inflicted on them in August feels like a long time ago now. A repeat of that scoreline seems rather far-fetched.

Defensively, Daniel Farke seems to have found a formula to solidify them. Leeds have proven themselves to be tricky customers for the big hitters with some decent scalps in recent weeks. They beat Chelsea 3-1 in one of Enzo Maresca’s final games at the helm and they managed a pair of draws home and away to Liverpool as well as a hard-fought draw at home to United a few weeks ago.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has rediscovered some of the form that got him into a few England squads a few years ago and Brendan Aaronson has become a fan favourite in recent months.

But that’s nothing Gabriel and William Saliba can’t handle.

What the managers say:

Daniel Farke:

The Whites have lost only one of their last 11 in all competitions, but boss Daniel Farke is aware Mikel Arteta's table-topping Gunners will provide one of United's sternest tests to date

The German said: "To be honest, tough run of fixtures. We had already a few tough runs of fixtures and even during this period, a bit surprisingly perhaps, sometimes we have collected many, many points.

"For me it's also not important if we win perhaps points in games where to the outside world it's a bit more winnable, in comparison to playing some of the of the top sides.

"We want to make sure that we deliver our best possible performance each of the games and if you have a chance to win points against teams who are in the top positions then we also go for it.

"We know we face the best side in the Premier League so far," the boss added. "We face the best side in Europe so far. I don't take any encouragement and I'm far away from thinking, underestimating Arsenal's strength or think right now they are not in the best possible position.

"I think they will be back to their very best at the weekend, but this doesn't mean that we should shy away or have to crumble anyhow. So even if Arsenal is at its best anyhow, we want to make sure that we are competitive."

Mikel Arteta:

"For sure we want to improve, we want to be better in every area, but with that sense as well of self-confidence and conviction that we are on the right path."
