Preview

Two of the early season WSL one hundred percenters will do battle on Saturday afternoon as Arsenal Women travel to the North West to face Manchester United.

Both sides have won their opening two games of the season but at least one team’s perfect record will have to go here.

The two sides have been very free scoring in the early stages of the season with United beginning their campaign with a 4-0 demolition of Leicester followed by the 5-1 thrashing of London City Lionesses who were also mauled by the Gunners on the opening weekend at the Emirates.

In terms of team news, AWFC have been given a boost as it looks as though Chloe Kelly will be available after picking up a knock.

Renne Slegers is expecting an intense game from the hosts and stressed preparation is key in her press conference. “We know they are going to play with a lot of intensity, Manchester United and that’s what we need to prepare for”.

The match will kick off at the peculiar time of 250pm, and will be televised on BBC One. Around 1,000 Gooners are expected to make the trip up to Leigh, with more than 9,000 tickets sold in total.
