Arsenal are targeting Nico Williams, preferring the rising Spanish star to Real Madrid's Rodrygo.

Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams has reportedly begun saying his goodbyes to teammates before a possible summer switch from Spain to North London. 

Despite the potential availability of Rodrygo, Arsenal's long-standing interest in Spanish winger Williams appears to remain intact.

According to reports on the Iberian peninsula, the Spainish international favours a switch to the Premier League, with Arsenal leading the race.

However Andrea Berta faces a challenge for his signature from captial challengers Chelsea, with Arsenal now prioritising Williams over Rodrygo.

The interest in the Basque star comes after the Gunners cooled their interest in the Real Madrid attacker - with the club believing the Spanish winger is a better fit for Mikel Arteta's squad and his long-term plans.
