Not long now until Arsenal finally announce Viktor Gyokeres
Here's a taste of our new big-hitting Gooner Fanzine columnist Charlie Ashmore ahead of Arsenal announcing Viktor Gyokeres
With Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres expected to complete a move to Arsenal from Sporting this weekend the elephant in the room no longer remains the gaping No9 shaped hole in the squad, writes Charlie Ashmore, aka The View From Block 99
The 27-year-old has been given permission to travel to Singapore in order to complete his medical, and is expected to sign a five-year deal to finally become an Arsenal player across the new few days.
For a while it looked as if we were all in on Benjamin Sesko.
Then we pivoted to Viktor Gyokeres but despite getting to the line by all accounts, we have yet to get him over the line which is frustrating - but we're nearly there.
Both have the potential to be the answer even if Sesko felt more like one for the future whereas Gyokeres feels like one for now.
Let’s just get it done, please.
Countdown to the 2025-26 season
Finally, the countdown to the season is on.
Tickets in the away end for Manchester United vs Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, August 17 have been safely secured.
I pray for a good start.
The fixture computer has dealt us a curveball opening set of fixtures - and we both start and finish the season away.
Bring it on I say.
