Teenage striker Jessie Gale has been recalled by Arsenal from her loan with bottom WSL2 side Portsmouth.
The England youth international, who penned her first professional contract with the Gunners in 2025, scored five times in 15 appearances for the South Coast side.
Portsmouth manager Jay Sadler said: "We’re disappointed to be losing Jessie at this stage in the season. However, we’re grateful to Arsenal for the opportunity, and proud to have played a small part in her journey.
"She made a real impact since joining in the summer, scoring some important and memorable goals for us. We wish her every success as she returns to her parent club."
Portsmouth, who host rivals Southampton on Saturday, stated: "We’d like to thank Jessie for her contributions during her time at Pompey and wish her all the best for the future."
Have heard no news of an injury in Arsenal's team, so I suspect the timing of this news is more to do with the fact Portsmouth host rivals Southampton tomorrow and the club want to confirm it before then. Could well be that she's primed for another loanhttps://t.co/89HaIVJ31p
