Jessie Gale has become the second academy player to pen her first professional contract with Arsenal this summer, following Cecily Wellesley-Smith in putting pen to paper.
The Gooner reported in May that both Gale and Wellesley-Smith were set to sign deals with the Gunners, and both players were in Lisbon with the senior team to celebrate Champions League glory later that month.

Gale enjoyed a successful season for both Arsenal Under-21s and on dual registration with Watford in 2024/25, scoring seven goals for the Golden Girls and providing seven assists.
The 18-year-old joined Arsenal’s academy from Charlton Athletic in January 2024 and played a key role as the Gunners won the FIFA Blue Stars Youth Cup in Zurich that summer, before lifting the PGA League Under-21 Division One title last season.
“I’m delighted to sign my first professional contract here at Arsenal,” said Gale, who recently featured for England at the Under-19 European Championships.
“This is a special club with great history and ambitions for the future, and it’s incredible to be part of that.
“I’ve had the opportunity to train alongside the first team here as well as gaining experience elsewhere, and now I’m looking forward to continuing to work hard to develop and progress as a player.”
Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re thrilled that Jessie has signed her first professional contract with us. Jessie has been a key part in our Under 21s team over the past year and a half and has shown real dedication to developing as a footballer. We look forward to seeing Jessie continue to grow here.”
Head of Player Development James Honeyman added: “Since joining Arsenal, Jessie has given everything to developing not only as a footballer but as a person as well.
“She takes every opportunity that comes her way and we’re all proud of her journey so far. Jessie has got a big future ahead of her and we look forward to seeing her develop at Arsenal.”
