Arsenal Women have secured Slavia Prague goalkeeper Barbora Votikova on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Votikova bolsters Arsenal’s goalkeeping group, with Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe having both endured injury issues this campaign, and Manu Zinsberger sidelined for the season.

The Gunners did recall 21-year-old Naomi Williams from her loan with Bristol City in January, but she is yet to make a competitive appearance for Arsenal.

Arsenal were reportedly interested in bringing Hoffenheim shot-stopper Laura Dick to North London, but she elected to stay with the Bundesliga side.

The 29-year-old has Women’s Super League experience, having spent the 2023/24 season with Tottenham. Votikova kept a clean sheet in Spurs’ 1-0 win over Arsenal on her debut, and was named player of the match.

Votikova has 54 caps for Czechia, and also played for Paris Saint-Germain after starting her career with Victoria Plzen.

Arsenal head coach Renee Slegers said Votikova: “will provide additional cover and competition in our goalkeeper unit. Barbora has extensive experience across different leagues in Europe and is familiar with the WSL, so we feel she is an excellent signing to strengthen our squad for the remainder of this season.”

It’s been a dream of mine to play at Emirates Stadium and I can’t wait to get started.” 

Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley added: “Barbora will be an important addition to our squad as we move into the latter part of the season, bringing experience and proven ability in both the WSL and the Champions League. I know our supporters will join me in welcoming Barbora to the Arsenal family."

Votikova signed a three-year deal with Slavia Prague in August 2024, and will wear the number 13 shirt for Arsenal.
