Arsenal Women U21 beat league leaders Manchester City

Sophie Harwood and Amy Liddiard both featured for the Gunners in a 3-1 victory




Arsenal Women's under-21 side beat Manchester City 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon in one of their best results of the season.

Izzy Christiansen's City went into the game as PGA League Under 21 Division One leaders, but fell to defeat against the Gunners.

Gaby Dimmock and Bryony Brodie were on the scoresheet before a spectacular goal by Mia Dixon capped a crucial victory for Arsenal. Freya Hirons was City's goal scorer.

First-team squad members Sophie Harwood and Amy Liddiard both featured, after Arsenal elected not to send Harwood on loan due to Taylor Hinds' injury.

Arsenal U21s beat Actonians on a friendly on Sunday, with Brodie also on target. Anniyah Gordon scored a brace.
