Port Vale vs Arsenal League Cup date confirmed
Carabao Cup third round date confirmed for Arsenal's trip to Port Vale
Arsenal will make their first visit to Vale Park since January 1999.
The date for Arsenal's League Cup third round tie against Port Vale has been confirmed.
The club said in a statement: "The clash will take place on Wednesday, September 24 after a date was confirmed by the EFL."
The cup clash will have an 8pm kick-off at Vale Park, and will be broadcast live by Sky Sports.
It will be the first time the teams have met since January 1998 when Arsene Wenger's side drew 1-1 in an FA Cup third round replay at Vale Park, following a goalless draw at Highbury - with the Gunners winning on penalties on the way to winning the trophy as part of the North London giants momentous 1997-98 double season.
Arsenal have won 12 of 22 matches against the Valiants, with the pair of FA Cup games near the end of the 20th century the only clashes between the clubs since 1927
Arsenal say ticket information will be released in due course.
