Emirates Stadium joins WSL Alcohol Choice pilot

Fan Choice and Alcohol In The Bowl Trial expanded to include AWFC among 14 clubs across both divisions for forthcoming 2025-26 season

A pilot allowing supporters in the women’s game to be able drink alcohol in the stands while watching a game is set to expand for the campaign ahead.

Following a successful trial among fans, clubs and matchday staff, seven WSL top flight clubs including AWFC have signed up for the second phase of the trial to run from September.

The pilot enables WSL clubs to give supporters the choice to consume alcohol and non-alcoholic alternatives within view of the pitch during matches – including at their seats inside the stadium bowl.

Arsenal said: "We are pleased to announce that we will participate in the Barclays Women’s Super League’s Alcohol Choice pilot for the 2025-26 season."

Alcohol consumption will be limited to specific areas of Emirates up to around 20,000 seats, with other areas remaining alcohol-free.

The club says these areas will be clearly signposted to supporters when purchasing tickets.

Arsenal added: "We’re committed to offering an enjoyable stadium experience for all supporters.

"We will be monitoring the results of the pilot and engaging key supporter groups throughout the roll-out, including dedicating time at our supporter forums to gather feedback."

The involvement in the pilot comes with the support of representatives of from organised AWFC supporter groups, and approval from the Arsenal Safety Advisory Group.

The scheme only relates to WSL matches at Emirates Stadium, not men's Premier League matches.

Alcohol Zones are listed below for Arsenal's involvement in the pilot:

Lower Tier: Blocks 4-19

Club Level: All Blocks excluding 50 & 51

Box Level: All Boxes

All other sections of the stadium are Alcohol Free Zones.
