Player Ratings: Arsenal 2-0 Leicester City - Mikel Arteta's Gunners win again to edge into fourth place

Arsenal captain Alex Lacazette put in another excellent selfless performance to help his side to an important victory on the way to fourth spot


Arsenal beat Leicester City 2-0 to edge into fourth place at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon after their fifth striaght victory. 

A first half goal from Thomas Partey put the Gunners in control prior to Alex Lacazette's second half penalty. 

The result saw Mikel Arteta's side leapfrog Manchester United into the foruth and final Champions League qualifying spot, with Arsenal one point ahead, but with three games in hand.

Aaron Ramsdale: 8/10 - To think that there were people out there who thought buying him was a bad idea. Incredible 

Cedric Soares: 7/10 - He might not be Tomisashyu but the Japanase right-back's stand-in produced another reliable performance

Gabriel: 7.5/10 - Solid as his partnership with White continues to bloom

Ben White: 7.5/10 - A Rolls Royce of a centre back who purred throughout to help his defensive colleagues to another clean sheet 

Thomas Partey: 7.5/10 - Scored with a near post header while hitting the woodwork during a hugely encouraging performance. 

Granit Xkaha: 7.5/10 - Another discplined performance in the heat of bettle. Which is all that Arsenal supporters want from him

Martin Odegaard: 8/10 - Silky. His vision and creativity are a joy to watch. Still improving by the game. Which is a wonderful prospect. No wonder a burly Gooner in the stands shouted out to him: 'We love you Martin' as the former Real Madrid midfielder stepped out after the game to conduct his post-match media duties in front of the smattering of Arsenal supporters that remained in the Emirates after the final whistle

Bukayo Saka: 7.5/10 - If you don't love Bukayo Saka, well, then you really don't love football 

Alex Lacazette: 8/10 - Fully deserved his hearty ovation at the end folowing another selfless, hard working display. No wonder the Arsenal PA played Spirit in the Sky in homage of the Gunners true team man and leader 

Gabi Martinelli: 7.5/10 - So full of running, energy and vibrancy. And to think he's years away from his peak

Substitutes: 

Emile Smith Rowe: 7/10 - On for Martinelli with 12 minutes remaining. A good run-out that bodes well for the coming weeks 

Pepe: 7/10 - Replaced Saka with five minutes remaining

Eddie Nketiah: 7/10 - Sub for captain Lacazette late on
